Westbound
Born and raised in Durban, South Africa, Abijeet Achar is a cinematographer and director of Indian Mauritian decent. After immigrating to Atlanta, GA, Abijeet refined his talents through film theory and history at Kennesaw State University and the University of Georgia, where in 2012 he eared a Bachelors of Arts in Film Studies. Abijeet later earned his MFA at Emerson College in Visual Media Arts, recently completing production for his narrative thesis film, “My Indian Rhapsody,” earning the Graduate Deans Award, and is a semifinalist in the 43rd Student Academy Awards. Abijeet was the chief instructor at Emerson College’s Steadicam Academy, and is a full time touring cinematographer for singer/songwriter, Corey Smith, currently touring the United States.
